Here's a question. My doctor doesn't support me with my health choices. What do I do?
Well, you have different options. It all depends if you really like the doctor to begin with.
If a doctor doesn't support your health choices, it doesn't mean he or she is a bad doctor.
It could be a fantastic doctor in his or her own right. And it depends on what your needs are too.
You always have to look at that facet to it all.
And what the impact would be, you have to kind of foresee this,
and what the impact would be if leaving that doctor or leaving her or him
and going to seek out another doctor, what your needs are, what the impact is,
and kind of looking into it like that.
But first of all, and times are changing now.
This is really important to understand.
doctors are being more supportive than ever before in holistic in the holistic world so
conventional doctors and holistic doctors are merging um a lot of different practices have
holistic doctors uh on staff and um and and it's kind of a joint it's becoming a joining effort
now it wasn't like that years ago um i talk about this on the radio show where uh alternative and
conventional doctors were so far apart they wouldn't be caught in the same room together
and that's basically the bottom line.
They were divided.
It was, you know, we celebrate different holidays
and one holiday we don't celebrate
is the united, the union,
the united force of conventional and alternative doctors
coming together like they have in the past five years.
You know, basically what I mean is
They were coming together eight years ago and 10 years ago, but still now it's literally just been five years.
They've been really coming together much stronger and much more of a force and being more common in all the different states in the U.S.
So it's growing.
And because of that, you'll have an opportunity of getting a doctor that will support your health choices.
if you don't if your doctor doesn't support your your health choices like i said you have to look
to see what that doctor is doing for you anyway and then you can go doctor shopping um you know
there's nothing wrong with doctor shopping you know we we can fire our doctors um and people
fire their lawyers people fire their doctors people you know people do a lot of that out there
So it's not the end of the world.
I'm sure your doctor's got a very busy practice and it's not going to hurt.
But chances are if you have a relationship with the doctor and you have a relationship
and that relationship you like and a doctor has a good bedside manner.
I'll tell you one thing.
Even if a doctor doesn't support your health choices, if they have a good bedside manner,
It blows that out of the water sometimes.
And that matters.
So it's, look, doctors go into medicine because they want to help people.
They really do.
It's not about hurting people or not supporting them.
It's about helping them.
Just because some of our doctors over the decades did not understand,
many of the doctors did not understand alternative therapies
and they poo-pooed it and poo-pooed a lot of different illnesses and symptoms.
And I talk all about that in the book.
Just because of that doesn't mean they didn't have a good bedside manner,
which really does help in healing.
That makes a difference.
But hopefully you have a doctor that supports your ideas
and what you want to do as well.
The ideal thing is having a doctor with good bedside manners
and also supportive of what you do and open-minded and communicative,
making sure that there's communication between both of you.
And that's ideal.
But if you're in a place where there's not a lot of choices and you're stuck
and there's not really anywhere really to go,
I understand you might want to keep your doctor, of course,
if there's some positive qualities involved with it
and what your needs are and everything.
I believe it's best to have a balance.
You do want an alternative doctor and a conventional doctor.
Or you have an alternative doctor that's both.
Right now they're called functional medicine doctors.
Or a naturopath that's just from a naturopathic medical school.
So there's different options out there.
And at the same time, I've seen healers out there offer so much guidance and so much loving compassion and so much good faith and everything out there that it's good to have one of those on your side too and in your court.
I've seen people just use those alone.
But it's what feels good in your heart and feels good in your soul.
So keep that in mind.
That's really important.
What feels good to you and what feels supportive.
So, but really great question.
